Israeli Genocide: Israel kills 115 Palestinians in Gaza as Trump tours region

As U.S. President Donald Trump is touring the Middle East, Israeli warplanes unleashed one of the deadliest 24-hour bombardments in Gaza killing at least 115 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

The strikes, which also left 152 injured, have plunged the Gaza Strip into further chaos and despair, coinciding with Palestinians’ commemoration of the 77th Nakba anniversary — the mass displacement that began with the creation of Israel in 1948.

Many Palestinians saw a symbolic overlap between the historic Nakba and the ongoing destruction of Gaza — both marked by mass dispossession and international complicity.

At least 61 people were killed overnight in Khan Younis alone, Gaza’s Health Ministry confirmed. In the north, Israeli airstrikes hit Gaza City and the Jabalia refugee camp.

The civil defense authority reported being overwhelmed and under-equipped, struggling to rescue those trapped under debris. “It’s a massacre,” one rescuer told media outlets. “We’re digging with our bare hands.”

Among the victims was journalist Ahmed al-Halou, a reporter for Al-Quds News Network, killed in an Israeli strike.

His death brings the total number of Palestinian journalists killed since October to 217. Local officials said his location was not near any military target.

Birthright Citizenship

The Supreme Court seemed divided yesterday over whether lower courts have the authority to impose nationwide injunctions on presidential orders, as opposed to more limited rulings. The debate arose from President Donald Trump’s January executive order attempting to end birthright citizenship, which was blocked by three federal judges with nationwide effect. Birthright citizenship, a long-standing legal precedent under the 14th Amendment since 1868, grants full legal rights to anyone born in the U.S., irrespective of their parents' immigration status. The administration contends that this practice should not apply to children of undocumented immigrants, arguing it encourages unauthorized migration. Opponents, however, warn that overturning it would create a marginalized group of noncitizens.

During the hearing, the justices explored whether universal injunctions—increasingly used by lower courts in recent years—could be substituted by class-action lawsuits, which involve stricter judicial scrutiny. The case highlights broader concerns about the scope and power of lower courts in shaping national policy. A ruling on the matter is anticipated by this summer.

Trump Admin Forcing Schools to Report International Students for Protest Activity or 'Antisemitic Actions'

The State Department is directing university officers to report international students and scholars for participating in certain campus protests, “proscribed antisemitic actions,” “terrorist activity,” or “endorsing or espousing terrorism,” according to emails seen by Zeteo.

The new policies will impact the J-Visa program, which includes people participating in academic or work-related exchange programs in the US.

There had already been an array of things that university officers were directed to report, including fraud and incidents of abuse or those involving child protective services. But the State Department is adding three new reportable incidents that direct schools to determine what qualifies as antisemitic or terrorist “endorsing” behavior that merits reporting.

The State Department included several examples of the three new reportable incidents (directly quoted):

Proscribed Antisemitic Actions (e.g., physical actions directed towards Jewish individuals and/or their property, community institutions or religious facilities that violates the law or university rules)

Serious Violations of University Conduct Rules (e.g., participation in a building occupation, participation in an unauthorized encampment, disrupting classes, intimidation, harassment, assault)

Terrorist Activity, Endorsing or Espousing Terrorism: (e.g., engaging in terrorist activity; membership in a terrorist organization; endorsing or espousing terrorist activity)

Self Improvement - Cultivating Taqwa (God-Consciousness)

Strive to strengthen your connection with Allah by starting each day with gratitude and intention. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever says in the morning: ‘My Lord, I have awakened with Your name upon me, and with Your name I shall die and be resurrected,’ will be under Allah’s protection until evening” (Al-Adab Al-Mufrad). Reflect on the Quranic reminder: "And whoever relies upon Allah—then He is sufficient for him" (65:3). Dedicate just 10 minutes daily to Quran recitation or dhikr, and seek forgiveness (istighfar) to purify your heart. Small, consistent acts of worship compound into immense barakah—start today, and trust in Allah’s plan for your growth.

Parenting

Raising righteous children begins with leading by example—your actions speak louder than words. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock" (Bukhari), reminding us that nurturing our children’s faith and character is an Amanah (trust). Allah says, "O you who believe! Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones" (Quran 66:6). Dedicate time daily to teach them Quranic values, pray together, and foster kindness through small deeds. Most importantly, make dua for their guidance—as Prophet Ibrahim (AS) did: "My Lord, make me and my descendants establishers of prayer" (14:40). Consistency, love, and trust in Allah’s wisdom will shape their hearts.

Family & Relationship

Strengthen your family bonds by embodying the mercy and kindness taught in Islam. The Prophet (PBUH) said, “The best of you are those who are best to their families” (Tirmidhi), reminding us that our homes should be filled with love and compassion. Allah describes spouses as "garments for one another" (Quran 2:187), emphasizing closeness, protection, and mutual support. Make time for meaningful conversations, forgive small faults, and prioritize acts of service—whether helping with chores or sharing a meal. The Prophet ﷺ also encouraged playfulness with loved ones, saying, “Even racing your wife is an act of charity” (Tabarani). Most importantly, keep your relationships rooted in dua and gratitude, asking Allah to bless your home with barakah, just as He says: "Our Lord, grant us from among our spouses and offspring comfort to our eyes" (25:74).

"So verily, with hardship comes ease. Indeed, with hardship comes ease."

Surah Ash-Sharh (94:5-6)

This powerful verse from Allah is a timeless reminder that no difficulty lasts forever. By repeating "ease" twice, Allah assures us that His relief is not only certain—it’s abundant. For a Muslim facing trials, this verse strengthens patience (sabr) and trust in Allah’s plan (tawakkul). The Prophet ﷺ endured immense hardship, yet this promise carried him forward. Internalize this truth: your struggle is a test, not a punishment, and Allah’s mercy is already on its way. Let it inspire hope in your prayers, work, and daily struggles—knowing ease is always near.
